Sake and Snack Pairing: Easy Apple Pie

The perfect dessert snack for a girls’ night is a quick and easy apple pie!
Apple pie can seem like a hard thing to make, but with this recipe, it’s not. You can easily make it at home with a dumpling wrapper and a toaster oven. Give this easy apple pie with a hint of cinnamon a try! The unexpected crispy texture of the dumpling skin is addictive.

This snack pairs well with light and smooth or fruity sake!

Ingredients (2 Servings)

1 apple
3 tablespoons of raisins
3 tablespoons of sugar
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
15g of butter
1/2 tablespoon of cinnamon
12 dumpling skins
Egg wash, as needed
Some vegetable oil, as needed

How to Make: Steps

Step 1:
Peel and slice the apples into 8 equal pieces. Place in a microwaveable bowl and add sugar, lemon juice, and butter. Mix together, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave for 5 minutes at 600W.

Step 2:
Remove the plastic wrap, mix and wrap again. Microwave for 2 minutes at 600W. Add in the cinnamon and rehydrated raisins and mix again.

Step 3:
Place a small amount of Step 2 onto the dumpling wrapper. Run some water along the edges of the dumpling wrapper and place another dumpling wrapper on top. Hold the dumpling wrapper in place by pressing a fork along the edges, and brush the surface with egg wash.

Step 4:
Place the apple pies onto an oil greased aluminum foil and bake in a toaster oven until brown.
When using an oven, bake at 200°C for about 5 or 6 minutes. It can also be heated in a frying pan.

Tip: You can also use apple jam to save on time!
