A delicious and fun-packed dish, in honor of Halloween!
This is a fun-looking gratin made with the whole sweet and soft mini pumpkins that are in season right now. Serve to some guests at a party and you are sure to be the center of attention!
Spraying the pumpkin with sake before baking it in the oven will give it a beautiful browning and enhance the delicious flavors.
2 mini pumpkins
200g of frozen pilaf
100g of white sauce
40g of pizza cheese
Japanese sake, as needed
Preheat the oven to 220℃. Wash the pumpkin, wrap it entirely in plastic wrap, and microwave for about 6 minutes. Cut off the lid sections and remove the seeds. Hollow out the pumpkin with a spoon. Be careful not to pierce the skin.
Warm the frozen pilaf in the microwave as per instructions on the package, mix with the pumpkin filling, and place in the pumpkin. Sprinkle the white sauce and pizza cheese on top in that order, then spray with sake from a spray bottle.
Bake in the oven at 220℃ for about 8 minutes and serve.
