Combination of sweet and spicy flavors! Chicken wings are a classic snack to have with a drink or great as an easy dinner!
The secret for some delicious chicken wings is to add honey, which gives it a gentle sweetness. Combined with garlic and ginger, it gives a punch of flavor and finish off with some sesame seeds for an appetizing aroma to make your hungry for more!
This dish pairs beautifully with fruity sake, or those with a very deep and rich aroma!
6 chicken wings |
(A) A pinch of salt and pepper |
(A) 2 tablespoons of soy sauce |
(A) 1 tablespoon of Japanese sake |
(A) 1 tablespoon of honey |
(A) 2 teaspoons of grated garlic |
(A) 2 teaspoons of grated ginger |
2 tablespoons of potato starch |
3 tablespoons of white sesame seeds |
Salad oil, as needed |
2 tablespoons of Japanese sake |
Sesame oil, as needed |
Herb mixture, as needed |
Cherry tomatoes, as needed |
How to Make: Steps
Step 1:
Make cuts on the chicken wings along the bone and place in a bowl. Marinate the chicken with ingredients (A).
Step 2:
Leave the chicken for 10 minutes. Add in potato starch and white sesame seeds to a bowl and dredge the chicken wings in it. Make sure they are well-coated.
Step 3:
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place the chicken wings in the frying pan and cook til golden.
Step 4:
Add Japanese sake, cover with a lid, lower the heat to low to steam the chicken wings. Finally, remove the lid, raise the heat to high, to let the leftover water evaporate. Finish with a drizzle of sesame oil for an appetizing aroma.
Step 5:
Serve on a plate and garnish with the herb mixture and cherry tomatoes.
Tip: Fold the chicken wings in half when you eat, so you can eat them cleanly!
