Lightly-sweetened compote cooked with sake.
This recipe uses sake for two purposes. First, to soften the prunes by soaking them. Second, to add flavor and prevent the pears from breaking apart when stewing. There are many ways to enjoy this compote: taste it by itself, put in yogurt, put on toast, and more.

8 prunes (seeds removed) |
┗ 2 tablespoons of sake |
1 lemon |
(A) 150g of sugar |
┗ 2 cups of water |
┗ 1 cup of sake |
┗ 1 cinnamon stick |

Steps 1:
Put prunes and sake in a bowl to soak for approximately an hour.
Step 2:
Peel the skin off the pears, remove the core, and cut them in quarters. Cut the lemon into round slices.
Step 3:
Put (A) and the lemon in a pan and simmer. Add the pears and (Step 1) put a drop-lid on the pan. When it comes to a boil, turn the heat to low and stew for 20 minutes.
Step 4:
Put the compote and the syrup into a container. Wait until it cools down and put it in the fridge.
Step 5:
Dish up on a plate and decorate with mint leaves.
