Introduction

Yamagata City, the home of safflowers blessed with rich nature. Blessed with clear subterranean water from Mt. Zao and high-quality sake rice, we have been making traditional sake for more than 300 years since our establishment in the Kyoho era (1715 AD), making the most of the rich blessings of nature."Japanese heritage terroir brewing that symbolizes the traditional flavor of Yamadera and Yamagata's safflower culture".This is the commitment and theme of the Kotobukoraya Brewery's sake brewing process. We believe in pursuing better sake quality by focusing on sake rice, water, and the natural environment that nurtures them, and not being satisfied with the status quo while maintaining a sense of history. The quality of our sake has been awarded the top prize at the GI Yamagata "Yamagata Prefecture Kenjokai" Sake Tasting Competition", the Gold Prize at the National New Sake Competition, the Superior Prize at the Tohoku Sake Competition, and several other prestigious national and international awards.
