Founded in 1872 (Meiji 5), our brewery has been dedicated to crafting Japanese sake for over 150 years. We use Shizuoka yeast in all of our sake, creating flavors and aromas that cannot be replicated outside the region. The most famous strain, HD-1, was originally discovered in our fermenting mash.
In the Shizuoka Prefecture Sake Appraisal, we have won the Governor’s Award (1st place) 9 times in the past 10 years, significantly outpacing the second-highest record of 6 awards. Internationally, we have also received numerous top prizes in global competitions, boasting an impressive success rate.
For over 15 years, we have taken proactive steps to minimize the environmental impact of our brewery. Initiatives include installing solar power systems and a facility for treating washing water onsite.
Situated in a region blessed with Japan's tallest mountain, its deepest bay, and an abundance of diverse ingredients, we are committed to crafting sake that complements the rich culinary heritage of this area.
