Introduction

Tabe Takeshita Brewery took over the business from Takeshita Honten due to the lack of a successor and newly opened in June 2022. Production began in November with up-and-coming chief sake maker brewer Mr. Hamasaki. The history of the Takeshita family and the Tabe family, which took over the business, goes back to 1866, when the Takeshita family took over the brewing rights "Sakeza" from the Tabe family, one of the largest landowners in Japan, and started sake brewing.Later, the Takeshita family became a prominent family representing the region, producing the 74th Prime Minister Noboru Takeshita, and grew into a company that led the region's development. However, the business faced a crisis due to the lack of a successor, and the Takeshita family approached the Tabe family for advice, which led to the succession of the business. The concept is "fruity and outstandingly fresh sake", and the image is that of a sparkling clear sake from the summer sea in the San-in region. The first release in January 2023, Okuizumo Maemawamaya "test brew" was truly a test brew, as it was the first time for the new chief sake maker to work with the land, water, and climate. Based on last year's experience, the process was further brushed up and re-released as the "Rihachi" brand. With the up-and-coming chief sake maker Hamasaki, the Tabe family now once again took on the challenge of brewing sake.
