Introduction

Uehara Shuzo, established in 1947, is the oldest distillery in Itoman City, located in the southern part of Okinawa's main island. After a period of dormancy beginning in 2015, the distillery resumed awamori production in 2021. Uehara Shuzo’s awamori is crafted through the unique blessings of Okinawa and the pioneering use of "electronic techniques," a first in the awamori industry. This method produces smooth and rich awamori that has earned high acclaim, including consecutive Okinawa Governor’s Awards.
