Founded in 1928 on Miyako Island, Okinawa Prefecture, our distillery has a rich history. One of our former master distillers, Keishu Taira, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays, in recognition of his contributions to and the popularity of our flagship brand, Kikunotsuyu. He laid the foundation for the "perfectly balanced flavor" that defines Kikunotsuyu today.
Our distillery boasts one of the largest reserves of aged awamori (kusu) in the industry, enabling a stable supply of premium aged spirits. Our flagship aged awamori, V.I.P Gold, has surpassed 10 million bottles in cumulative sales.
In 2023, we launched Kikunotsuyu akari, a new staple awamori made using reduced-pressure distillation. It has received positive reviews, even from those who typically don’t enjoy awamori.
