Located near the border between Oita and Fukuoka prefectures and surrounded by the beautiful mountains of the Kyushu mountain range, Hita was once the domain of the Edo shogunate.Because of this, the burden of annual tribute was light, and the region is known as Kyushu's little Kyoto, where a unique and rich culture and industry grew up.Our company was founded in this Hita region in 1789, and the founder started sake brewing because the limpid water from the spring at the local Old Pine Shrine was suitable for sake brewing. This is the origin of the company name.
