The company was founded in 1650, the 3rd year of Keian. The sake name "Kaga no I" was named by Toshitsune Maeda, the third generation of the Kaga Maeda family, and has been carefully passed down to this day since then. In response to the Great Fire in Itoigawa City Station Kita that occurred in December 2016, a newly constructed sake brewery was completed in the spring of 2018 and sake production resumed.Shinzo has become able to better determine the condition of the raw rice, and is currently pursuing a transparent taste while considering the compatibility of the brewing water of "medium-hard water", which is a characteristic of our own brewery, based on the belief that "making sake is nurturing, and making sake that is faithful to the basics" while taking advantage of the characteristics of this brewery.
