Founded in 1922 in the Uonuma region of Niigata Prefecture, one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan.Since its establishment, the company has consistently aimed for the highest quality sake brewing using "Raiden-sama no Shimizu", an extremely soft water blessed by Hakkaisan (Mt. Hakkaisan), to create a light and delicate taste sake that enhances communication with food". The company taking advantage of the wisdom of heavy snowfall areas, continues to take on challenges in new fields, such as products using the "Hakkaisan Snow Chamber" filled with 1,000 tons of snow, and "Amasake" based on the theme of rice, koji, fermentation, and water.
Sake brewery tours are not accepted, but at "Uonuma no Sato", where the second Kouwagura that makes regular sake is located, you can visit the snow storage of the "Hakkaisan Snow Room" and sample our alcoholic beverages.
At Sarukurayama Brewery, you can enjoy beer while looking at the brewery through the glass window.
