Our brewery was founded in 1897, the oldest in Iki, and celebrated its 124th anniversary this year.We make unrefined sake from rice and barley grown in Iki, using the traditional turtle brewing method, distill the matured unrefined sake under normal pressure, and store the finished sake in turtles or tanks to mature.
The resulting sake is then stored in turtles or tanks to mature.
The same turtling and long-term storage process that has been used since the company's founding give Yamanomori its deep flavor.
Shochu tasting (free of charge) and sales are available at the adjoining Shochu Museum from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Saturday and from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on Sundays.
We are closed on August 15 and during the year-end and New Year holidays.
