Introduction

Since its founding in 1909, Ochiai Shuzojo has been dedicated to producing authentic shochu. The distillery is located in a basin surrounded by mountains, with a view of Boroishiyama in the Wanizuka Mountain Range.

Nearby, the pristine Kagamizu River flows, and its underground water serves as the source for the distillery’s brewing process. Since its inception, the brewery has been using traditional Kame—ceramic jars crafted approximately 200 years ago, each with a capacity of around 540 liters—for creating the fermentation starter.

At Ochiai Shuzojo, our goal is to craft delicious shochu that customers can enjoy daily and form long-lasting relationships with.
