Located in Hinokage-cho, northern Miyazaki Prefecture, this shochu distillery was founded in 1831, and the current president is the seventh generation.It produces and sells honkaku shochu (sweet potato shochu), barley shochu, buckwheat shochu, and glutinous rice shochu.The brewery where we still brew shochu today is more than 130 years old, and the pillars and walls are pained black by the brewery yeast and koji mold.The water (for shochu making) is using the spring water from the opposite shore of the brewery.The brewery is still making sake by hand, from production to labeling.
