Founded in 1724.
The brewery is located in Shiogama, a port town with a long history whose beautiful scenery has been written in many poems.
Inheriting the traditions and techniques of the Nanbu a chief sake maker, the brewery aims to produce sake of the highest quality, while at the same time focusing on Miyagi rice and producing sake that matches the local food culture.
Kyokai 12 yeast, which was registered with the Japan Brewers Association around 1985, is a yeast isolated from Urakasumi's ginjo fermentation mash.
""Urakasumi Sake Gallery"" open from 10:00 to 17:00
Purchasing a set of sake cups and special coins (from 300 yen), you can try tasting sake at the coin-operated sake tasting server.
