Founded in 1637, Gekkeikan is the oldest sake brewery in Fushimi, Kyoto.In the Meiji era (1868-1912), Gekkeikan established the first research institute for sake brewers, introduced science and technology to sake brewing, brought innovation to brewing technology, and expanded its business.Today, under the corporate concept of "Aiming for Health, Sake Science, and Creating Pleasure", Gekkeikan produces high-quality sake in all genres, from high-end to popular, and exports sake not only domestically but also internationally, thereby expanding the sake culture globally.
Gekkeikan Okura Memorial Museum, a sake archive, is operated.This facility allows visitors to experience the history of the development of sake brewing in Fushimi, Kyoto and Gekkeikan's challenging and creative spirits.
After the tour, please enjoy tasting three types of sake from a selection of ten types prepared according to the season.
