More than a century ago, the first-generation head of our distillery founded it in Ichikikushikino City in search of excellent water.
The spring water discovered here is praised as exceptionally pure and rare. Combined with carefully selected potatoes, this water has been the foundation of Satsuma Tanabata, our traditional potato shochu made with dedication since the distillery’s inception.
We honor time-honored traditions and uncompromising craftsmanship in our shochu-making. Using rice harvested from nearby terraced fields as koji rice, we employ a unique fermentation method to mature our shochu carefully.
We invite you to savor our aged potato shochu, crafted with pride by our master artisans here in Kagoshima.
