Founded in 1899 (Meiji 32), our small distillery is located in Haru, Akune City, Kagoshima Prefecture.
For over 120 years, we have been crafting shochu, preserving its traditional, time-honored flavor while incorporating new techniques to carry our legacy into the future.
One unique story that sets us apart is the revival of the Kabuto-kama Distillation Method, a technique used in Japan during the Edo to Meiji periods. Our fifth-generation owner, a former engineer, painstakingly restored this method through repeated trial and error, blending tradition with modern ingenuity.
We meticulously select each sweet potato by hand and carefully cut them during preparation. Even the bottle labels are applied one by one with great care, ensuring that every step of the process reflects our dedication to quality.
