Founded as a cooperative by five long-established shochu distilleries with origins in the Meiji era, Ibusuki Shuzo Cooperative was established to combine traditional techniques and begin shochu production on an unprecedented scale. The cooperative aimed to achieve ideal brewing methods to enhance quality and diversify its product offerings. On July 1, 2008, the cooperative transitioned into a corporation.
Carefully selecting the factory location to ensure optimal water quality, reliable raw material procurement, and efficient distribution, the distillery was constructed near Lake Ikeda in Ibusuki, an area ideal for shochu production.
Our main brand is Riemon, which we focus on producing.
