Introduction

Founded in 1835, the rich history of Tanaka Shuzoujo continues to this day under the stewardship of its sixth-generation owner. In the past, the sake brewed by this brewery delighted the lords of Himeji Castle. To honor this legacy, the brewery’s flagship brand, made with premium Yamadanishiki rice from Hyogo Prefecture, bears the name of Himeji Castle’s moniker, "Shirasagi no Shiro (White Egret Castle)."

Tanaka Shuzoujo’s motto is “Onko Chishin”—respecting the wisdom of the past while creating new value. This reflects their passion for offering customers more than just sake to enjoy, but also the opportunity to connect with the history and stories behind each product.
