Founded in 1872, Chitosetsuru is the only sake brewery in Sapporo, Hokkaido.
Sake rice is 90% used Hokkaido rice, using high-quality ""Kitashizuku"" and ""Ginpu"" rice produced in Shintotsukawa-cho, the largest sake rice production area in Hokkaido.
The brewing water, which is important for sake brewing, is drawn from the underground water of the Toyohira River in Sapporo, and is soft water with low particulate matter and a mild taste suitable for sake brewing.
In 2023, we will build a new sake brewery for the first time in 64 years, which will enable from sake making in winter and brewing in the three seasons.
[Chitosekuru Sake Museum (directly-managed store)] Tasting is available from 10:00 to 18:00.
Closed: Year-end and New Year holidays
[Factory Tour] Weekdays 10:00-16:00, groups of about 10 people per day.
