Located in the northwestern part of Hokkaido, Mashike Town was once a prosperous town for its abundant herring fishery.
In 1882, Kunimare Sake Brewery began when the demand for sake increased due to the booming economy caused by herring.
The abundance of good water sourced from the hot and cold mountain ranges of mountains brings a wide variety of mountain and sea food.
The main products of Kunimare Shuzo, which has been nurtured in a culture of hair thickening, are mainly transparent and slightly dry.
Kunimare Sake Brewery have formed a council with local sake rice producers, and we are walking along with the history of Mashike, such as the development of agriculture and the culture surrounding Japan sake.
