Our brewery is located on the outskirts of Fukuoka City, surrounded by mountains and rivers in a beautiful natural setting. Since its founding in 1792 by the first-generation Sakugoro Kobayashi, we have consistently upheld the tradition of crafting "delicious sake" through eight generations.
During the time of the second-generation Shohei, the family came across an unusually shaped stone resembling an old turtle. Inspired by the proverb "A turtle lives for ten thousand years," they named their house sake Bandai ("Ten Thousand Generations").
Although we are a small-scale brewery, we take pride in our carefully preserved techniques, using meticulous, handcrafted methods to produce our sake.
