This sake brewery was founded in 1853, and its representative brand,“Hakugakusen” uses rice suitable for sake brewing from Fukui Prefecture and subterranean water from the Hakusan water vein underground water.We only brew pure rice sake, and express the people, land, and climate of Fukui to the fullest through our sake as Fukui Terroir.Additionally, the buildings, such as the store, main building, rice storehouse, and storehouse, which were built from the mid-Meiji period to the early Showa period, and are designated as nationally registered tangible cultural properties.
The store is open weekdays 9:00-18:00, weekends and holidays 10:00-17:00.Closed on Wednesdays (irregular holidays apply) Tastings are not available.
