Kuribayashi Shuzouten
was founded in 1874 (Meiji 7) in Rokugo Village, Akita Prefecture (present-day Misato Town). The brewery is located in a region blessed with high-quality rice from the Senboku Plain and abundant underground water, selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Famous Water sources.
The brand name Harukasumi is said to have been inspired by a line from the Noh play Hagoromo.
Our goal is to create sake that pairs well with everyday meals—sake meant to be enjoyed at the dinner table alongside delicious food. We primarily use contract-grown rice such as Misatonishiki and Kyokai No. 9 yeast to craft sake with a harmonious balance of aroma and flavor.
