In 1944, due to government restructuring efforts, 21 sake producers with 8 breweries from Kitaakita and Kazuno districts joined to establish Hokushika Sake Brewing Co., Ltd.
In 1971, production was consolidated in its current location in Odate City, and in 1986, the company joined the Sekaitaka Koyamaya Group, where it remains today.
Odate City is in the heart of a rich grain-producing region in northern Akita Prefecture, surrounded by the majestic nature of the Shirakami Mountains, Towada-Hachimantai.
Here, with access to excellent rice and exceptional spring water essential for sake-making, we brew sake using the Akita-style kimoto method, a refined version of traditional techniques.
Brewery tours and tastings are not available.
