The Araya district of Akita City was once renowned as the birthplace of Akita's local sake, gaining fame as a prominent sake-producing region.
Araya is known as a town of abundant spring water. Located on coastal sand dunes, it still boasts numerous springs and wells throughout the area, making it an ideal location for brewing.
In the Meiji era, as many as 12 breweries were actively producing sake here. Today, however, only the sake brand Akitabare remains.
Carrying the pride and tradition of being the birthplace of Akita's local sake, Akitabare is dedicated to delivering delicious sake to people far and wide as its enduring mission.
