Since founded in 1751, the brewery has been at one end of part of the food culture of sake in Echigo Nagaoka (Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture), passing through a history of drastic change. In 1882, we took over the sake brewery of the Makino family, the feudal lord of the Nagaoka domain from which the name "Hakuro" was derived, and became a "Daimyo-kura," using the family's "Mitsukashiwa" crest and inheriting the product name "Hakuro" .
The people involved in sake brewing have changed over time, but our company's stance of "producing delicious sake that will be appreciated by many people" has been consistently passed down to the present.
