In 1972, Yamagata Meizo Co., Ltd. was established as a joint bottling plant for five sake breweries in the Kitamurayama region of Yamagata Prefecture. 1985 saw the establishment of the Cooperative Association Rokkasen Sake Brewing Cooperative Association to handle the brewing division, and in 1992 the company name was changed to Rokkasen, Ltd.We aim of creating sake that gently resonates with people's hearts, like the waka poems composed by Rokkasen, an outstanding poet active in the Heian period (794-1192).From sake of ultra-dry to sparkling sake, we continue to challenge the possibilities of sake.
