Founded in 1753, this Ibaraki sake brewery was started by an Omi merchant from Shiga Prefecture.Today, the brewery produces three brands: Kyo-no-Yume, Ruri, and Fuji Ryu.Blessed with fertile countryside between the Kinugawa and Kogai Rivers and in a land blessed with water suitable for brewing, Ibaraki's sake has been popular since the Edo period for local sake of Ibaraki.Among the most popular are "Kyo no Yume Uwazumi", an unfiltered sake limited to the winter season, and junmai-shu, a ginjo-shu brewed with the sake rice Gohyakumangoku.
